Hi, I'm Jayne. Welcome to Half Star Quilts.

I first started to make quilts when my children were small and I wanted something to challenge my mind and keep my hands busy in the evening when they were tucked up in bed. I took evening classes with my Mom and soon realised that my interest was in adapting or making up patterns, never one to follow instructions without tweaking it somehow. I think that comes from my Nan, who always changed and adjusted knitting patterns. With a background in Maths and computer programming, designing new quilt patterns started to take up more time than actually sewing. This is when Half Star Quilts was born.

I love to design quilts that are colourful and clear to follow and make, and will brighten up any bed, sofa or wall. And my mathematical mind means that I like to make the most out of every last bit of fabric, with no waste left over. If you have any questions please do contact me and I'll be happy to help.


Quilts, Cushions, Patterns and more

Quilts: Obviously, we love quilts and quilting. In fact, so much so that there are not many rooms in my house which are not adorned by a beautiful quilt, patchwork cushion or maybe just a simple table runner. Over the years I have put together quite a collection of fabric treasures. Most of which you can see in the patterns section or the gallery.

Cushions: Quick and simple to make but designed for maximum impact to bring colourful patterns to your home. The majority of my quilt patterns can be adapted to make cushions - in fact - with most of the quilt patterns, you can also get the cushion pattern too!
